Got to say we found a fairly good meta with this system. The only thing that is preventing me from switching it to full on Amorim is the fact that our best player is the Boca regen on the RW spot. He does have some familiarity at the RM position so it could be a mismatched formation but the same philosophy maybe. We still have to see.

In other news, Ugarte and Martinez have believed in the project enough to stay thankfully by the first international break

Ugarte I was happy to see stay but not Martinez. As much as he is good at being the destroyer IRL, that doesn’t translate well in FM24 where his height is a major disadvantage. So I make do with playing both Kinteh and Yoro alongside De Ligt and playing Martinez in the LB position but his crossing is too shoddy to be any kind of full back really. I have been alternating between a full back who tucks into midfield to compensate for the midfield overloading the front line and a normal bog standard full back unlike Mitchell who I use as a full on wing back. It is a position I have to think about eventually to shift something.

Other than that Sildillia works perfectly at RB with Singo being a capable backup to sort things out when Dalot does leave in January. He slots in to become the extra CB since the Boca regen is the person who provides the width and the person on the LW technically becomes the second AM along with Darvich who is seriously a revelation I don’t want to ever get rid of.

We had a brilliant start in the league and Europa League and wins against City and Arsenal along with a draw to Liverpool in the first half of the season. The news and the board thought so too with these inbox items that came in

Mr. Boulay the legend that you are ⭐.

We do have some funds to address places but honestly I do not want to rock the system now especially when it is reflecting THIS in the league and Europa League

The way we played against the big teams did surprise me. First was a draw against Liverpool where their shooting was awful but we didn’t create anything either

Fabio Silva being a saving grace from a cross was the only bright spark and beyond that we just couldn’t carve any chance out. Carretero(Boca regen) always seems to get locked down in games like this.

Against Arsenal however we had a counter attacking masterclass with a brace from the departing Hojlund.

Shooting was bad from both of us but ultimately our counters were absolutely lethal with the second goal coming from their own corner which is always a chef’s kiss in my book.

Then in the Carabao Cup it was an absolute cinema match up against a Haaland-less Man City and it was ugly let’s just say but we got the win in normal time thankfully.

Carretero being the star turn despite having a below average game was mental. Going direct did the trick after Mainoo found him and managed to finish past Trafford who is their cup keeper. Then he supplied another long ball to Joe Jones who is our Carrington born and bred striker and he made no mistake to round it out once it became equal when they lost a man too.

January is going to be a fallout given 3 players are leaving. And honestly I managed to find replacements for them already and one of them is coming in January. Let’s see how that goes.
