Even though I have this kind of a chance to win all the UEFA competitions for the first time in FM24, with the kind of downgrade from the Champions League to the Europa League meant complaints from the players and this is the list of players who wanted out
Out of those people I managed to move Zirkzee on but for some reason he willingly accepted a move to Al-Nassr for 60M(Never makes sense how he wanted to move to a Champions League club but decides to accept a SPL offer 🤔 Guess any Champions League works for the guy). Thankfully I didn’t let them put transfer requests and besides that the values of those players are really high only PSG and all can afford them really which means we can at least keep them and won’t be unhappy till we manage to get back into the Champions League.
And the board think so too because they definitely want us to win the Europa League. Honestly, I want it more than anybody because this means I’d only be the second person to do that since Jose Mourinho did it IRL.
And the transfers also made sure we were cooking in the transfer market but our options were hugely limited so I made do.
The CSR revolution in full flow. Honestly given United have a regen from Boca in the RW(Wanted him at Napoli but he turned me down back then) I don’t see myself using the Amorim system properly anytime soon. But I will use a variation of it with the base being a 4-2-3-1 which will switch to the Amorim system in possession. I hope it works well to at the very least top 5.
Trubin was someone I had in mind for a long term replacement at Napoli and he was doubtful about making the move here which made sense given we are the Europa League but we given we were the only offer of a big club I managed to bring him in and instantly he is in the Media Dream Eleven in the League in the goalie position which showed us the kind of coup we just made for that price. And we brought in another keeper who we loaned back to the parent club from Bodo/Glimt. Him and the already existing Saudi keeper seem like good goalie prospects for the future so that is sorted.
Then it was some other wonderkid regens from Club America in Mexico and Velez from Argentina and it seems like we have a good connection there which I used perfectly. The names are as follows:
C. Gonzalez: DM option because Mainoo was the only defensive mid option besides Tchouameni and Ugarte
F.Millan: Winger option because our winger options could be problematic if Mbuemo leaves.
Mitchell: Homegrown talent because Shaw is freaking 33 and I do not know how he survived for this long and given I had to sell Dorgu on because he was looking to explore his options at the end of his contract I needed someone immediately and this was the only option I could have brought in.
Sildillia: Given I needed someone who could act as the extra CB and I managed to move Mazraoui on and Dalot was the other full back option who will honestly not be another CB and IRL he is absolutely wank but he has no offers to be honest to move him on.
J. Zinhagel: Part of the new wonderkids list I used for this save game who is a perfect solution on the LW and might be a starter if Mbuemo does plan to leave.
Overall this is the level of spending we made
261M spent in the right places in my opinion. A good keeper, better full backs, depth for the midfield and depth in the attack along with a striker option in case Hojlund leaves which could be the case given Barcelona are now interested in him and they can well afford the 150M tag I set for him.
Among the others it seems that Martinez, Dalot and Ugarte are stinking up training because they didn’t get their move. Given we once had injuries to Shaw and Martinez I was honestly thinking of using Dalot on the left but with the shoddy training rating I’d rather keep using Mitchell even if he isn’t that great. We do have 40M still left in the budget if we need anything in January.
We started the season amazingly well but it does have an asterisk because we haven’t faced any of the big teams as of yet so that is the reason for the title I chose. That this will definitely be a slow cook.
