I thought this was only going to be a post on how we did at the half way point of the League Phase in the UCL but given what happened before the international break this will be a long one. We made it to the Champions League after a HECTIC playoff match against Swiss League Champions BSC Young Boys. The advantage of starting here in the playoff is that the winner would be in the Champions League and the loser would be in the Europa League. And a minor issue I had was I promised to the Don that I’d reach the Champions League proper instead of agreeing maybe the playoffs would be enough and maybe we could try to compete far in the Europa League but I thought I would be ambitious. Yes I did manage to win my first ever Conference League. In my previous save game I only won the Europa League and the Champions League. Never the Conference League. But we managed to get through and pull through. We will get into it in time. The Amorim system has helped us onwards and upwards as we never looked like losing or even drawing. Against the big rivals like AEK, Panathanaikos and all we are handling ourselves very well which is always important and we managed to qualify for the Championship Group which is a very large difference to the other leagues. See the league in Greece puts the top 6 in the league into the Championship Group and the remaining teams will be put in the Relegation Group. In the Championship Group the league winner plus the continental spots are decided. And in the Relegation Group the last two teams are relegated to the second division. ...

I was watching Job security ever since I came to the realization that it is difficult to ever dislodge to 3 horsemen of the Turkish Super League. Honestly the gulf in class against the other teams in the Turkish league was very obvious. There were only two draws that happened in the season. Looking into the books of Trabzonspor we got a lot of debt that is difficult to remove. And it goes till freaking 2030. It feels weird doing this because I want to do some managing not repairing this stupid debt. A quick finance lesson for those names are as follows: The bank loan is basically paid each month and is adjusted so that it will be paid by the end of that date A Payment In Kind loan means interest builds up and we would only know how much it really is at the end of that loan….in 2030 😑.
