Finland v Belgium

Going into this match day, Finland still had a chance for being 2nd in the group. That chance is mostly gone if the other match does not go their way. Belgium were absolutely brilliant off the blocks but were denied for a while by the brilliant Hradecky. But unfortunately, the last(or second last) contribution he did was score an own goal. The corner came in from Belgium, Vermaelen’s header came off the bar and hit Hradecky on the way in. Very unfortunate, given his performance in the tournament. They lost hope when the second one went in from none other that Lukaku who had an earlier goal disallowed with offside.

Russia v Denmark

Denmark are the first team to make it through to the knockouts despite losing twice before this. It was a great performance and deserving after everything they went through. This means they will be facing Wales in the Round of 16. First a brilliant goal from Damsgaard with his right gave them the lead. Then, the second one was a massive error when Poulsen intercepted a back pass and finished easily. Then, Russia got a penalty and put it away. The next 2 goals were super important from Denmark. First, a screamer from Christensen after a scramble in the box made the ball come to him outside the box. Then, a goal towards the end from Maehle from a great counter attack.
