The game ended 0-0 at full time with neither team able to score due to missed chances and the keeping being top notch from both sides. However come the penalty shootout, Ospina really bossed it by making 2 great saves and managed to send Colombia through.

Messi absolutely ran the show. Chances were slightly more from the Argentinians. The first goal came when a player tried to round the keeper and the loose ball came to Messi who laid it off for De Paul who finished well. Later the second goal came from winning the ball off of a defender who took a heavy touch and Messi teed it up for Martinez who finished beautifully. The final goal was the icing on the cake. Di Maria was clean through but was brought down. The referee first gave a penalty but changed it to a free kick after looking at VAR. The player who brougth down Di Maria was sent off and Messi managed to score the free kick to cap a brilliant performance. Argentina tried to go for a 4th but time was not on their side.
