A very thrilling game and Peru almost threw it all away when Carrilo got sent off for a second yellow and Paraguay equalised before full time to take it to penalties. It was topsy turvy but Peru managed to come out on top overall.

Brazil v Chile

Goals

Paqueta 46'

The first half was dry with neither side able to break through apart from one chance for Firmino but he missed. Later on in the second half his sub, Lucas Paqueta managed to score after a brilliant move. However, 2 minutes later, the match became harder as Jesus went for an absolute reckless challenge and got sent off. This made the Selecao adopt a defensive formation and deploy time wasting to make sure since Chile kept attacking their goal and came close when Brereton actually hit the bar. Brazil will now be facing Peru in the first semi final.
